Specifications - Informational RFCs - April 1st RFCs

In this unit, let's see an introduction to RFCs ("Request For Comments") and its main characteristics.

RFCs are the documents which define the structure of the Internet. All Internet standards are RFCs, but most RFCs are informational. There is also a tradition of special April 1st RFCs which define standards for protocols which are unlikely ever to be implemented...
Most of the RFc presented here are only available in plain text form (published up until June 2001), although a few of the more important ones (listed below) have been converted into HTML. The others have had hyperlinks added to any other RFCs that they reference, but otherwise they are still in their original text form.
